Disclaimers
LAN9662 and LAN9668 Rev-A support removed
The current version of LAN9662 and LAN9668 is Rev-B, which is also the revision which will be manufactured. Rev-A is good for evaluation, but not recommended for future production use.
From a SW/BSP perspective the main difference between Rev-A and Rev-B is the bootrom which has changed significantly. Rev-B has introduced Arm trusted firmware, the SoC is configured with a secure-word and a non-secure-world, and secure boot is now fully supported. As part of this change, the DDR initialization has been moved from UBoot into BL2 (updatable part of TFA).
Due to this architectural update, rev-A and rev-B need a different UBoot binary. The BSP-2022.09 release offered a UBoot for both rev-A and rev-B, this version and future versions will only offer UBoot updates for rev-B.
Customer can continue their rev-A boards with the Linux kernel and RootFS from new BSP release, but with the 2022.09 version of UBoot.
SPI-NOR speed on LAN9668 on UNG8290 boards
The UNG8290-RevA board has a minor design flaw causing the highest SPI bus speed to be 10MHz. This has been fixed on Rev-B boards, and the default device tree will set a clock speed at 100MHz.
To continue using UNG8290-RevA boards, the frequency must be lowered in the device-tree.
Feature update
Sparx5 PSFP support added
Per-Stream Filtering and Policing support has been added for the sparx5 driver. Streams are added and deleted using the 'tc' command suite (please see PSFP (Per-Stream Filtering and Policing) for details).
